Yes it’s true; we have a third little kid on the loose in the Kindig house! Now, I wouldn’t exactly say that our little Cannon Adele is all over the place yet, but she has definitely made her presence known, and made a major impact on everyone under our roof. I have taken far too long to get her official press photos released, which makes me glad that I’m a Dallas commercial photographer and not a celebrity needing the publicity. Of course, you’d think a photographer would post images up faster, but these past few weeks have been a major whirlwind of Dallas photography shoots and taking care of an infant, along with chasing two other wild kiddos.
In either case, I know that you all would enjoy getting to see the photos, and I most certainly enjoy getting to share them! It’s still incredible to me that I now have two girls and a boy. I mean, two weddings to pay for now! And don’t get me started thinking about that whole weddings thing, I’ve already gotten emotional thinking about marrying off my little Windsor, despite her only being (almost) two. Welcome to the overly emotional world of parenthood I suppose.
Now, as we’ve done for both of our other children, I went full Dallas photographer on them. We basically constructed a baby photography studio in our living room. Honestly, there has been a pretty steady trend of using our living room as a studio space; given the amount of children and family photos we have been doing due to so many new additions. Now to be clear, I am not a baby and family photographer, my bread and butter is more in the Dallas corporate photography side of things, but when it comes to family, I tend to make some exceptions. Little Miss Cannon is the third of what our family now deems ‘The Triplets.’
So there are three sisters, each of which that was pregnant with a baby, and each baby was delivered one week apart from the next one. I’ll give you a minute to let that sink in. Three babies in three weeks. It is one of the wildest things I’ve seen, and either we are just super in sync as a familial group, or the women were planning something. Additional theories are welcome.
All that to say, I’ve done the newborns for each kiddo, and we did a group photo session both before all the babies were born, and after. We had seven kids in one spot, all under the age of four. We actually repeated this nearly miraculous act for our Easter shoot, but more on that in a future post. This is not exactly what I signed up for as a Dallas commercial photographer, but hey, it’s family. Cannon did a great job in front of the lights, and we were able to get several cute photos of her. She is a very pretty girl, and also happens to hold the record for least hair on a Kindig child. Jack had a full head of dark hair when he was born, Windsor had an almost jet-black legitimate Mohawk, and Cannon has the beginnings of strawberry blonde wisps.
Obviously as the third child she is determined to stand out from the crowd, and I feel quite confident that she will. She’ll probably be the toughest one out of her siblings as well, given that she is going to have to survive being raised by the other two. It’s hard for me to empathize given that I was the oldest, but I know it will be a long road for her. Seriously though, both her brother and sister love her to pieces, and we can’t wait to watch her grow into a lovely little girl!
