Below is a list of common questions we receive from brides regarding wedding photography. If you have other questions, please feel free to contact us and we will get back to you shortly.
ABOUT JASON KINDIG
How long have you been shooting weddings? I have been shooting weddings in Dallas and throughout the United States since 2003.
How did you get started? I started out shooting for The Dallas Morning News, where I learned from some of the best in the business the art of photojournalism and capturing moments.
Do you have formal training? Yes, I received my bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism with a minor in Art Photography from the University of North Texas. My photography is a blend of these two distinctive styles.
Are you a part time or full time photographer? I eat, sleep and breathe photography! In other words, I am a full-time professional photographer and I love every minute of it!
Are you a member of any local or national photography associations? I am a proud member of the American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP) which is known as “The premier trade associate for the world’s most respected photographers.”
What is your shooting style? Coming from a photojournalistic background with The News, I am focused on shooting with a candid, documentary style to capture the beautiful and emotional moments in your day. I also specialize in creative portraiture with a magazine and fashion-styled flair.
Will you be the person photographing my wedding? Most definitely. You are hiring me for my services, and I will not send an associate photographer in my place to photograph your wedding.
Will you be photographing another wedding the same day as my wedding? I do not photograph more than one wedding in a day because I place all of my energy and creativity on making beautiful memories of your day and your day alone. Your wedding day is all about you after all!
Do you provide referrals? Yes, I can provide you with a list of couples that hired me for their wedding photography.
Do you travel? What are your travel fees? I have photographed weddings throughout the US; and can go anywhere you want me to be. I am also available to travel internationally for destination weddings.
WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHY GEAR & ASSISTANTS
What kind of cameras do you use? I use Professional series Canon digital cameras, and I always have at least two cameras at your wedding. Having two cameras is extremely important as it gives me more flexibility in making images, and ensures I always have a backup.
How many lenses do you carry at weddings? I always have three to four lenses at weddings. They range from wide angle to telephoto and are all professional series. One of the most critical factors in image quality is the lens so I only use the best.
Will you have an assistant? Having an assistant and/or second shooter allows me to focus fully on you. My assistant is there to keep my hands free.

Custom Designed Wedding Albums
Do you provide a DVD of the digital negatives? Some of my wedding packges include digital negatives. If you purchase an album you can receive digital negatives.
How many proofs should I expect to see from my wedding? The number always varies from wedding to wedding, as each event is unique. However, you can expect around 500 to 800 image proofs from your wedding.
What is your average turn-around time for online galleries, prints and albums? Average turn-around for proofing galleries is three to four weeks after the wedding. After your selection, prints will be received within 3-4 weeks. Turn-around time on wedding albums vary.
Is retouching available? It certainly is! While it is standard practice to make sure your images are stunning for prints and albums, I can do any retouching that goes above and beyond. Additional retouching is billed on an hourly rate.
What is your payment policy? At the signing of the contract a nonrefundable 50% deposit must be made. The remainder must be paid in full before the day of the wedding.
If I decide to book you for my wedding what is the process? Can I take a copy of the contract with me and review it before signing? After our meeting I will hold your wedding date for (1) week which will give you time to look over the contract and other materials I will provide at our meeting. Once you have decided I require a signed contract, terms and conditions and a non-refundable deposit equaling 50% of your total wedding photography cost.
CUSTOM WEDDING ALBUMS
Do you include a wedding album or an album credit in your weddings packages? I include wedding album credits in some of my wedding packages. Having a credit allows you more flexibility in selecting an album that fits your wedding perfectly. If a wedding package select does not include an album credit you can always add the wedding album to your wedding package.
Who selects the images for my wedding album(s)? You! You have full control over which images are in your album(s). Once you have made selections we will design a custom album and give you a digital proof to look over before it is printed. You can also make revisions for up to three sets of proofs at no extra costs because we want you to absolutely love every page.
Who designs the wedding album(s)? All of our wedding albums are custom designed in-house. I believe your wedding album is too important to be outsourced.
Can you show me a sample of a wedding album similar to the one I will receive? Certainly. I always bring a sample album to my meetings so that you can get a feel for the look, quality and style of our wedding albums.
