Well, I think its safe to say that Peter wanted a boy.

The jubilation that he expressed could mean nothing else. He had a double fist pump of excitement, which made for a great jube shot, as they say in the world of sports photography.

This is why I enjoy photographing gender reveal parties so much, the emotions and anticipation run so high! Dallas event photographers love emotion and moments, as it makes for great photos. The reaction from finding out whether your child is a girl or boy is something else. It’s one of those things where you really don’t know how you’re going to react until it actually goes down and emotions sweep you away.  There are plenty of hugs and kisses, high fives, fist pumps, and maybe even a bit of airtime as you jump around.

Dallas Event PhotographersAt the party, everyone of course was asked to vote on if they thought the baby would be a boy or a girl. For the record, I did vote boy. I would be pretty proud of this Dallas event photographers record if I hadn’t been mistaken at the last gender reveal party I attended, plus with a 50% chance of getting it right, there isn’t too much for me to brag about. However, Eleanor and Peter both had mustaches pinned on their clothes, which means they were both feeling the masculine vibe, and were dead on.

Eleanor runs her own stationery company, Oh Louise!, so of course all of the printed items looked awesome. Make sure you check out the flags that were on the cupcakes and the other assorted details. I always enjoy seeing her creativity at work, it certainly elevated the look of the party and I would have expected nothing less. Plus her mom made the mustache and bow cookies, which were not only delicious, but looked absolutely perfect. They are quite the crafty pair!

When it came time to get the reveal underway, this Dallas event photographers eye was scanning the room to find the perfect spot. I settled in to one side of Peter and Eleanor, so I could have a front seat to their expressions, and also capture the pumped out crowd in the background. There were delicious cupcakes aplenty set out for the guests to enjoy, but apparently there were also two special cupcakes, all of which were made by RedRaspberry, that were hidden away until it was game time. After all, you wouldn’t want any guests to happen upon the gender of the child before it was time, which would probably dampen the atmosphere just a bit.

The crowd gathered in to watch Eleanor and Peter get their sugar rush on, and also see if it was going to be a baby boy. I doubt they have had this many people stand around and watch them eat before, so I’m sure it is an interesting experience from that standpoint. However, I ‘m sure that they probably weren’t focused on that.

So there they were, cupcakes up. Next came the chomp, then the look, and then the celebration. When Peter saw that blue frosting, he celebrated like he just made a Super Bowl touchdown by flipping into the end zone. So he was pumped. Then came the pounding of the fist on the kitchen counter.

Such excitement, and Eleanor couldn’t help but crack up at watching Peter do his thing. She of course was overjoyed as well; she just wasn’t hitting the countertops in an elated manner.

So, enjoy the photos, and congratulations to Eleanor and Peter on the upcoming baby boy! I’m so happy for you guys, and can’t wait to see him!
