Event Photographers Dallas

Dallas Event Photographer

As an event photographer in Dallas, I am always out and about documenting interesting events and people. This particular event, which was held at the Stay Zaza Art House & Social Gallery, was definitely a fun and interesting event for a few different reasons. The event was at a location that is in one of the hottest parts of Dallas, benefitted a great organization that gives to a lot of fantastic charities in the north Texas area, and was put on a very talented artist and former professional athlete.

First off, a little bit about the charity. As an event photographer in Dallas, I was there to photograph for Capital for Kids. According to their website, Capital for Kids “is a network of individuals and organizations involved and serving the investment management business dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in need. Through the partnership of our sponsors and grant recipients, Capital for Kids supports organizations that educate, protect and encourage at-risk children.“

They have given over $8,000,00 in the past seven years, which means they have made a serious impact in the community. The fact that Capital for Kids is able to provide financial support for numerous charitable organizations around the North Texas area is certainly some that this event photographer in Dallas can get behind. Some of the organizations they have supported include the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Dallas, Genesis Women’s Shelter and H.O.P.E. Farm, and I was very happy to be able to around to document the evening’s moments and atmosphere for them.

As you can tell from the photos and the location, there was no mistaking the fact that this event was an art exhibition. I have always been a huge fan of Hotel Zaza’s collection of photography that graces their walls, everything is so amazingly creative and inspiring. Their photographs truly are eye candy for an event photographer in Dallas. If you haven’t been to Zaza or seen their artwork, you really need to stay there sometime and soak it all in. Given the fact that they are so artistically inclined at the hotel, it seems only fitting that they have a fantastic gallery in the heart of Uptown. Plus, on this particular night we had absolutely perfect weather. The doors were swung open, people were able to hang out in and outside of the space, and it just made for a perfect ambiance.

The event was held the Friday of Final Four weekend here in Dallas, so everywhere you looked was something else with a basketball theme. From billboards along Central Expressway to the pile of basketballs tied down to the top of Hotel Zaza’s courtesy SUV’s, there was basketball in the air. So it was quite fitting that the artist exhibiting their work was none other than former NBA player Desmond Mason. Mason is a Texas native shooting guard and small forward who played at Oklahoma State University before going pro and playing for several NBA teams. He has also developed quite a career as an artist. That is where he and Capital for Kids intersect. Mason had a private show, called “Art 4 Life,” and donated a portion of the proceeds to Capital for Kids. This was his second year to have the show, and the turnaround was great. There was a steady crowd throughout the night, which kept a great energy up the whole time. This event photographer in Dallas was kept quite busy moving around to capture photos of all the attendees, moments of interaction and get the overall feel for the evening. As always, I hope you enjoy the photos!
