Dallas Corporate Event Photography: 3 Things to Look For, Part I
When it comes to Dallas corporate event photography there are three things you need to know about your potential photographer: Experience, Turnaround and Price.
In this Dallas corporate event photography blog, I want to break down each of these areas and make a simple checklist for you to follow as you search for the perfect photographer for your company’s event.
Dallas corporate events are a big deal. You have taken a lot of time, money, and energy putting together this event, and you want to make sure it is covered in a way that captures all that you and your coworkers have put into it. You want professional photographs that convey the energy, excitement, and importance of your event. Here are the areas you want to focus on while you are searching for the perfect Dallas corporate event photographer.
Experience
Let's start with the most important aspect of the potential photographers and that is their experience. The last thing you want is some un-experienced person showing up with a camera. You want someone who eats, sleeps and breaths corporate event photography.
Dallas corporate event photography portfolio: The best way to gauge someone’s experience is to begin with their portfolio. If they are an experienced, talented photographer, their portfolio will show it.
Technical Skills: Photography is an art and not everyone is an artist. So, the first thing you should look for is the person’s ability to take quality photographs. This is pretty basic, but are the images in focus? Are the photographs well composed? Is the lighting flattering? Do the pictures capture moments?
Corporate Photography Musts: Quality Dallas corporate event photographers have a understanding of what businesses are looking for from their event photography. Corporate event photographers must achieve certain looks to positively reflect the event. Here are some things to look for: Do the pictures include company logos, branding? Are there a lot of people in the audience, or do the rooms look empty? Does the audience look engaged or bored?
Event Variety: When you are looking through their corporate event portfolio you should see variety. If you are only see one event, you should be seeing a lot of red flags. Variety is important because it tells you that this photographer is used to all different types of events, large, small, indoor, outdoor, casual and formal. You name it, they have photographed it. A portfolio full of variety tells you that they can handle whatever type of event you throw at them.
Professionalism: Once you can verify that the portfolio displays a talented and skilled photographer, it is time to move on to professionalism. Whoever you hire to photograph your corporate events will be an extension of your company. They will be interacting with your employees and clients so professionalism and personality are really important! Spend some time talking to your potential photographer, reading reviews and even asking for some referrals that you can contact personally. Doing your homework will be worth it in the end.
There you have it! Now you are ready to find an experienced Dallas corporate event photographer. I hope that the experience section has already made you more confident as you begin your search. Start with their portfolio, look at their technical skills, their understanding of corporate event musts, event variety, and lastly their professionalism.
In tomorrow’s blog, we will look at Turnaround and Price. I will break down each of these to help you understand exactly what you are looking for. Hopefully by the end of this two part series, you will feel confident and ready to hire your Dallas corporate event photographer!
See you tomorrow!
