Making the Most of Your Branding Headshots

Your brand is everything. Whether you work for yourself, work for a company, or own a business, how you are perceived is the difference maker in how successful you will be. A key part to making sure that your brand is well-represented is having Dallas professional headshots taken. They not only show who you are, but also can communicate a lot of subtle or not so subtle things. Let’s dig in and see what the different elements of a headshot can say about your brand.

Lighting

All lighting is not created equal. This is definitely something to consider when you hit up Google to search ‘professional headshots near me.’ There are so many different types of lighting that can be used to convey a range of feelings. Do you need something bright and airy, or perhaps more on the moody side? Is a look closer to natural light more in line with your brand? Make sure that when you are looking at potential Dallas headshot photographers, you check out their versatility. I’ve been shooting headshots for nearly two decades, and can recreate almost any type of light in any kind of situation, and would be more than happy to chat with you about what kind of lighting setup we can create to best represent you.

Your brand is everything. Whether you work for yourself, work for a company, or own a business, how you are perceived is the difference maker in how successful you will be.

Background

So what kind of background speaks to your brand? There is always the classic white, gray or black, and all of those are classics for a reason. They look good, and they look professional. That said, there’s always more options if you’re looking to do something different. Outdoor backgrounds are always fantastic, as they add a lot of green and texture, and it offers a soothing look. That could also be a great way to go if your brand is more environmentally conscious. If you want to look more on the business side, you could do something like a skyline of the particular market you’re in, or even have a background of commercial buildings or glass to give a high end vibe. Or perhaps you want to look more relaxed and casual, like many tech companies. For that something like a painted brick wall or wood accent wall could be the perfect fit. Spend some time looking at other people’s headshots, and see what kind of background really speaks to your brand. Also, feel free to check out my headshot portfolio, as I have a lot of different backgrounds in there, which is what a lot of my clients use to make their decision on photo backgrounds.

Color Choice

The colors you wear are super important to your brand. Do you have to wear a solid yellow suit if your logo is yellow? Probably not, but having a top that’s yellow underneath a black or gray jacket, tie or even a watch or jewelry that coordinates just adds that extra bit of cohesion. If you are doing headshots of multiple people, I would suggest making sure everyone coordinates. That isn’t to say that everyone has to have the same outfit, but if you can keep your colors within a range of 2-3, or stay in your mix of brand colors, you really look like a group that is polished and very professional.

Every detail is important when it comes to maintaining your brand standards. I can help you to create a unique look that fits your brand, and can also be easily replicated as you grow and expand.
