Dallas Event Photographer - I miss events!

There are so many aspects to our lives that were affected by the Coronavirus. As with all of you, I have never experienced such a disruption at any time in my life, and you would have to go back several generations to see anyone that ever lived with something this unbelievable.

As we roll through this pandemic, my Dallas event photographer self has taken some time to process several areas in my life, and I have had some revelations, and am also experiencing a much deeper gratitude for things that seemed commonplace before.

I am a people-focused photographer, which is the worst thing you can be when you are practicing social distancing, haha, but I love getting to connect with people. I began as a photojournalist, and wanting to tell people’s stories, and that part of me has never left. I still live to tell stories, to hear and understand people, and connect with my fellow human beings. I do a lot of work as a corporate and commercial photographer in Dallas, but one of my favorite areas to capture moments and do storytelling is in event photography.

I have had the opportunity to capture events from coast to coast, and countless happenings all across the DFW metroplex, and it has always been fascinating to me to learn so many people’s stories or industries. Like most of us, I don’t just enjoy having human interaction, but I need it, and I really get so much of that from capturing events and the people that are there. Now with having gone into one of my typically packed event seasons without any events, I really miss them. The chance to hunt for moments, get those perfect shots when people are having a great time and connection, the supporting shots that help tell the entire story of an event, I love that stuff!

As a creative and Dallas event photographer, it is hard to work nonstop and not start feeling burnout, especially in busy seasons. Again though, after having some space to slow down and process, I have really begun to have appreciation for even the smallest of things. When it is time to get back to work, which I cannot wait to do, I am going to be so fired up, and I know that my team of Dallas event photographers will be chomping at the bit as well. We will have never been so ready and pumped up to go out there and create amazing photography.

So come on now, let’s get rolling!
