Dallas Photographer; Colorfully Exotic Spring Fashion
I have some Spring Fashion work that I wanted to share with all of you. I have the pleasure of doing fashion shoots on a fairly regular basis, and they are always a real treat for this Dallas photographer. I do a lot of editorial photography, which means that I experience a pretty wide range of subject matter. This certainly suits my personality well, as I like doing something different all the time. It keeps things interesting for sure. I do not get bored!
The theme for this particular shoot was spring fashion, which generally means two things. For one, there will be great color to work with, and I love color. The second? Cold weather. Yes, we do in fact have that in Texas, though it may pale in comparison to our northern neighbors. Nevertheless, a model in a light spring dress outside when it is cold and windy can get tricky, and I feel so terrible watching them starting to shiver. The location looked perfect, but it was brisk to be sure. I of course made sure my model on our outdoor location got to be covered up in between looks so she didn’t turn into a well-dressed block of ice. As a Dallas photographer, I want to make sure that each and every person on one of my shoots is happy and well taken care of.
Now she was a professional, and you can tell because you will look at all of these shots and not be able to tell that anyone is cold. I find that particular ability to be very impressive, as it is something that not just anyone can do. Of course, this is why I enjoy working with models, because they always know how to get the best possible look in a situation.
The first location was all outside, so it worked out a little better on the second day, as we were hanging out at a cool Turkish restaurant/ rug shop for the remaining shots. The roughest part was not having reliable Wi-Fi, which is definitely a first-world complaint so I will just be quiet. Now I know that you are thinking you just read that we were at a restaurant that sells rugs. And you would be correct. I’ve never seen a place quite like it; they had delicious cuisine and a selection of very fine rugs. I completely freaked out about their hummus; it was seriously great stuff. Now, I can’t let myself get too distracted. This Dallas photographer shoots food pretty regularly, but for this particular post I am focused squarely on fashion. Plus, I have a post on macaroni and cheese coming up soon, so I will keep the old salivary glands in check until then.
So yes, back to the shoot. As you can see from the shots, the restaurant was not unique solely for its rug sales, but also in the finish out. I’m usually not a fan of wood paneling, and in fact painted over all of it in my own home, but this stuff was cool. It gave a great exotic vibe, which was exactly the direction we were going for. Photography is such a fun medium because it can go in so many different directions, and take the viewer along for the ride. With this fashion spread the entire goal was to take the viewer on a journey that felt like they were anywhere but here in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex. Hopefully this post gave you a little getaway of your own. As always, enjoy the photos and have a great day!
