Dallas Commercial Photographer - Crystal Lagoon at Windsong Ranch

Don’t you feel like grabbing a paddle right about now?

In Texas we typically only celebrate two seasons: hot and not hot, but that doesn’t mean we don’t love summer! Long days, plenty of time spent in the pool, lake or one those plastic swimmin’ pools you get at the WalMart (don’t judge).

While I’m out hitting the streets as a Dallas commercial photographer, my kids spend a lot of time working on their tan, and even begin growing gills by mid-summer. They honestly may be in the water more hours of the day than not, which I am all about. My dad had a pool while we were growing up, and we were in that thing sun up to sun down in the summertime. Except of course, for that hour we had to wait after having lunch so that we wouldn’t ‘get a cramp and drown’. I’m still working through resentment issues on that one, so I guess we will move on.

One of the projects that I shot Dallas commercial photography of recently was the Crystal Lagoon at Windsong Ranch in Prosper, Texas. If you haven’t heard about these Lagoons, get pumped. Imagine a beach with sugar white sand and crystal blue water, that just so happens to be around the block from your house. I honestly couldn’t believe it when I saw it, and I know the residents at Windsong Ranch love having it there. You can even kayak and paddle board. The Lagoon is the first one to be built in North Texas, although I’m sure there are plenty more to come as time goes on.

I went up to Prosper to shoot lifestyle photography of the project for Windsong, so they could promote with content that was localized and specific to this particular Lagoon. Everything was shot last fall to have content ready to go for the following season, and the water was starting to cool a bit. This made it a little bit more interesting for both my models, who were all Windsong residents, and myself as I spent some time running through the water, but it wasn’t too chilly just yet thankfully.

We shot a little bit of everything, and I had a great time getting to work with some great people. Whether it was splashing around, fighting the wind on a paddle board or doing multiple jumps off the dock until the shot was just right. Enjoy!
