Dallas Food Photography - Brunch at Blue Goose!

Dallas Food Photographer

It’s pretty apparent that I love photography. I mean, I am a Dallas commercial photographer by trade to pay the bills, but I do genuinely love being able to create with a camera. I have other loves as well though, and being a foodie is probably a close second to photography. I really love food. I credit a food editor that I worked with several years ago, as we shot recipes every month for publication, and I learned so much about cooking, but more than anything, I learned to fall in love with it. She also got me to love bleu cheese, which was no easy task!

I’ve had the opportunity to work on so many different Dallas food photography projects, and have shot everything from hole in the wall restaurants to some of the finest dining in the metroplex. That’s probably the other thing I enjoy so much about food, as it can be an incredibly elevated experience that can blow your mind, but you can also get tacos or gyro from a gas station and have the time of your life. I can’t think of anything that can cross so many boundaries and connect people so universally like food.

Food is community, and where is there a better place to practice community than brunch? I mean, you’ve combined two amazing meals into one, aka caloric condensation, and you’ve also said that it’s socially acceptable to consume alcohol before 11am. Do that during the week and see if there’s any judgment… It’s such a great time to relax, and wind down from a crazy week, especially when you hit up a restaurant that knows how to crush it at brunch. Enter Blue Goose Mexican Cantina. I was recently commissioned by them to be the Dallas food photographer for their updated brunch menu, and holy smokes was there some incredible stuff. Of course they have their micas, chilaquiles, and fare like that, but then you go and get crazy with Churro French Toast. Yes, their French toast literally has the taste and texture of churros. Mind officially blown. They also have an incredible build your own bloody mary bar, which we did not shoot, but I have tested on multiple occasions when off the clock.

As we slowly continue back towards some sort of normalcy, I know that brunch will be one of the things that really help people regain the lives that they had in what feels like were a lifetime ago. In fact, I think this food photographer in Dallas now has plans for Saturday!
